Rwanda is famous for its gorilla trekking opportunities in the Virunga Mountains. The country is also a famous tourist destination offering primate walks, volcano hikes and bird-watching in Volcanoes National Park and Nyungwe Forest National Park, plus boat trips on Lake Kivu in the Rift Valley and a classic safari in search of the Big Five in low-key Akagera National Park. This leads you to great wildlife viewing including Big Cats and the Big Five (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino). All members of Big Five are in Kenya and Tanzanian parks and reserves like Masai mara, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti. Itinerary

Day 1 :
Nairobi

Our African safari package will start after you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, our tour driver will welcome you and transfer you to Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Kigali. Drive to Huye for lunch (150km), optional visit to Rwanda National Museum or visit the Kandt museum, see old Kigali and the craft centres then visit the genocide memorial site. Learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to the 1994 genocide; learn about other genocides in the world and how this country has dealt with that past. You can tour more and see the new developments in Rwanda; the recovery has been incredible, a testament to humankind’s resilience. After the city tour drive to Nyungwe National Park.

After an early breakfast, depart for a hike into Nyungwe Forest in search of chimps. Other species to be found include Colobus monkeys and lots of forest dwelling birds. In the afternoon relax or enjoy optional activities offered by the lodge and the park.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch get a flight to Nairobi to arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening, our staff will pick and transfer you to Sarova Panafric Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart for Masai Mara Reserve which is one of East Africa’s most famous reserves, The Mara consists of undulating hills and great rolling grasslands that sustain some of the most varied wildlife in Africa and in the world. Arrive in time for lunch at Mara Sarova. After lunch have an afternoon game drive, where lion, elephant, cheetah, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest, gazelle and other plains game abound and the hundreds of species of birds.

Day 6 :
Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, head out on a full day game drive in Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) other animals includes; Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, Topi, both the Thomson's and Grant's Gazelles. You shall drive along the savannah plains of the Mara searching for wildlife that is scattered all over the game reserve. If you fancy, you can head out to the Mara River where you will be able to view hippos in the pools and crocodiles sunbathing on the banks of the river. After lunch you will proceed to a picnic spot where you can disembark from the vehicle to have your packed lunch which will have been prepared by your camp chef and packed in the vehicle as you head out in the morning. After a short rest, resume on your afternoon game drive. Drive back to camp in the late afternoon. You have the option to visit to a local Maasai village. Note gratuities are given to the Masai when you visit their village.

After breakfast, we travel overland to Lake Nakuru National Park, also known as 'Ornithological Paradise', for a full day game viewing drive. The spectacular alkaline Lake is famously known as the feeding ground of both lesser and greater flamingos. This National park, which is fenced all round is a sanctuary for birds, Rothschild giraffes and both black and white-rhinos, Waterbucks, Buffalos, Gazelles, Lions, Baboons and the elusive Leopards sometimes seen sleeping on the horizontal branches of the Fever trees. Lunch will be served at the lodge in the game park.

After breakfast we drive past the scenic Athi Plains and into the bushy country of Amboseli National Park - a landscape dominated by the spectacular snow-caps of Mount Kilimanjaro. This park is the second most popular park in Kenya after Maasai Mara, mainly due to the spectacular backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro on the southern region. Arrive in time for lunch at your chosen lodge. After lunch and a few hours of rest, embark on a game drive at the foot of Africa's highest mountain.

This morning we rise early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro (5,896m) before clouds build up over the summit, we set off for a morning game drive. The waters from melted snow drain down the mountain under lava flows and surface on the Amboseli plains, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Here elephant, buffalo, lion, cheetah, wildebeest, hyena, jackal, warthogs, zebra and the Maasai giraffe are likely to be seen. Midday finds us at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by an evening game drive. Amboseli is home to the legendary Masai tribesmen. Masai warriors are famous and are proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world.

Have an early morning breakfast after which you start a morning game drive enroute as you exit the park. Continue to Namanga border. Exchange vehicles at Namanga Border and proceed to Arusha for lunch at Impala Hotel. After lunch proceed to Lake Manyara. Afternoon game drive around the lake. Wildlife to be seen in the park includes hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife.

Depart for an early morning game walk around the lodge, return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast depart for Ngongoro conservation area to arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will descend over 600 meters to the floor of the crater for a half day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, you may also see the flamingos in the open Savannah where the lions hunt for food.

After breakfast depart for Serengeti passing through Olduvai Gorge the site of the Leakey family discovery of fossils of human and animal ancestors dating back to almost two million years .

After an early game drive, get to the lodge for breakfast, then leave for a full day drive in Serengeti plains with packed lunch. We get deep in the heart of this famous migration corridor, with its wide-open spaces, bright blue skies and creature-filled landscape. Wildlife in the park includes prides of lions which laze in the long grasses, herds of elephants feeding on acacia bark, giraffes, gazelles, monkeys, eland and others. After lunch, have an afternoon game drive until sunset.

After breakfast, have a morning game drive, later depart for Arusha with picnic lunch on the way arriving late afternoon in Arusha for a flight back to Nairobi or to your country.
